Marcin began his publishing career in 1988, working at several publishing houses before joining the Quest Magazines, a division of Haymarket, in 1992 and becoming publisher of Wine Magazine and Wine & Spirit. In 1997 he left Quest to co-found Paragraph Publishing with Damian Riley-Smith, launching Whisky Magazine and Scotland Magazine and was editor and publisher of both titles. In addition, he developed the Whisky Live! event series.

David first visited Japan in 1985 when working for a Japanese financial company and he transferred to Tokyo in the early 90s. He has worked in Japan since then, save for a year each in Singapore & Scotland, changing careers from bond trader to whisky baron! David now represents a portfolio of distilleries & independent whiskies in the Japanese market and runs the Japanese branch of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. He also publishes the Japanese edition of Whisky Magazine and organises the Whisky Live! event in Tokyo.
